Can this icon in my taskbar be disabled so that it is not flashing all the
time.

You need to try and configure the particular program to startup without
requesting administrative privileges. Right-clicking the systray icon and
looking at the options will show which program is causing it. Alternatively,
if it's not a program you need then remove it from startup altogether.

no in windows vista the notication icon which keeps telling me over and over
agaithat there are blocked startup[ programs. I wish to know how to disable
that icon. get it.

Did you block the programs specifically with msconfig?
If so, you can enable them all back and use this instead:
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml
You will get no further 'warnings'.

Yea but the problem causing the error is Vista itself. You have a program
you KNOW is safe, you have used forever BUT VISTA in it's infinate stupidity
blocks it just because it was downloaded from the internet or it does not
know the vendor. THEN Vista ASSUMES you are a total idiot and will NOT allow
you to set the program as trusted. If you set it to run with ADMIN
priviledes then you get a differant popup asking you to allow. This is just
WRONG and no acceptable.

So you do you fix the the error when the only error is Vista itself?

What about file-contextmenu=>properties=>general=>Allow the last option on
the page?
