hi
whenever i am away from the desk for more than lets say, 5 minutes, windows automatically takes me back to the blue welcome screen where i can pick which user to log in as, of course, all my programs are still running so i only have to click on my name again. unfortunately, one of the programs that i like to leave running doesnt work well with this and and wont display properly after switching to the log in screen and back to my desktop again and i have to close it down and restart it whenever i come back from the blue, user choosing, welcome screen. is there a way i can disable windows from automatically taking me to this welcome screen every time i turn my back for a few minutes, its really aggrivating because i have to do several things in my program to leave it running again, this is fine if i go to bed, but i went out for a smoke a few minutes ago and i come back and im at that stupid screen again, now i have to do everything over
thanx for any hel

Hi John,

hi,
whenever i am away from the desk for more than lets say, 5 minutes, windows automatically takes me back to the blue welcome screen where i can pick which user to log in as, of course, all my programs are still running so i only have to click on my name again. unfortunately, one of the programs that i like to leave running doesnt work well with this and and wont display properly after switching to the log in screen and back to my desktop again and i have to close it down and restart it whenever i come back from the blue, user choosing, welcome screen. is there a way i can disable windows from automatically taking me to this welcome screen every time i turn my back for a few minutes, its really aggrivating because i have to do several things in my program to leave it running again, this is fine if i go to bed, but i went out for a smoke a few minutes ago and i come back and im at that stupid screen again, now i have to do everything over!

Right-click on the desktop, choose properties, go to the screensaver
tab and uncheck 'show welcome screen.'

Good luck, hope this helps.
