Dirty Characters

It has been a while since I was on this site. Is there any relief to the
dirty character issue in PP 2002 and 2003? This has to do with alpha
characters imported as pictures from other applications.

Can you describe the issue in more detail? (I thought we had Brian under
control, but maybe you meant a different dirty character issue)

If you create text in Word and then import that text as an object into PP XP
or 2003, all characters with rounded edges (C, O R Q, etc,) look like they
have been eaten on by a rat. This was not the case with PP 2000. I asked
about this sometime ago, and there was no solution. I though that they may
have been a fix. I use a program to draw chemical structures that contain
alpha characters. One of the primary characters is the letter C. This is
why this is such a problem. It is not a problem with my chemical structure
drawing program. It is a problem with PP.

If I was a Microsoft product manger, this would have been a show-stopper for
PP XP and 2003. They don't seem to care.
 
One point I failed to mention in my previous two post in this thread; the
problem only occurs when I am using animation on the slide. No animation,
no dirty characters. All imported object may not exhibit dirty characters.
I have not been able to tie the problem to any single animation or set of
animations.

Sonia's right, David, it may be that you may just have hit on something we
didn't know to check on. Can you email me some samples (off the newsgroup)?

Thanks. I though that might be the problem in question. I see Kathy's on top
of it here; she's probably more familiar with it than anyone outside MS and
most inside. Help her repro the problem and the right people at MS will see
it.

They're very aware of the problem, by the way and do care but some of the rats
that nibble on PPT's text come from someplace deep in the bowels of Windows
outside where the PPT programmers can reach. It seems that this may be one of
those problems.
 
I have found one solution to my particular problem. I remove all the
Entrances Animation on the slide. I then use white rectangles and circles
with no borders to cover parts of the images on the slide. I then use Exit
Animations (New in PP 2002) to make each part visible, one part at a time.
