Not sure if I'm in the right group but couldn't find
anything specific.

I was about to download a software update for my webcam
when I noticed that it said that it was recommended that
DirectX 8.xx or higher be loaded prior to the download.

I had never heard of DirectX. It linked to Microsoft and
I read everything I could find but was unable to
determine if I have DirectX loaded on my computer. I run
XP Home Edition (upgrade from ME) and have dutifully
downloaded and installed all of the recommended updates.

Can someone tell me how I can determine if I have DirectX
loaded on my computer?

Thanks.

Joe

Thanks for your help. I'll be back now that I've found
this group. BTW, I had the latest one on my PC. I guess
it was loaded as an update.

Again, thanks.
