How can I tell what version of DirectX I have installed on my PC? How can I
uninstall and reinstall?

Open the Start menu, select RUN and type DXDIAG.exe

Hi Daniel
Go to Start/Run - type in the box dxdiag - click OK.
The DirectX diagnostic Tool will come up. It should be on the first tab
'System'. Look down the bottom of that page and you will see the info you
want.
This tool is quite useful for testing sound etc.
Why you should want to/or why, to uninstall/install and the how, I cannot
say. Others with greater knowledge may advise on that issue.

I think 9.0 is the latest. Download link is here.

If you upgrade, it will take out the older version so you don't need to
uninstall.

Yes and No.

9.0c Is the latest offered via windows update, but there is a more
recent version.

A febuary 2006 version. You probly have no need for it, though.
