code:2156,facility:2166,severity:1

What do I need to do???

Hi Jay
If you have not done so since installing Windows XP, install the drivers for
your motherboards chipset and also the newest version of the driver for your
machines video card.
If you go to start > run and type dxdiag do you have Direct Draw and Direct
3D acceleration enabled or not available? If you have the option here to
enable these, do so. Are you having trouble with any other games?

What version of DirectX are you running? 7? 8.1? 9.0b?
If you do not know, click Start, then Run, enter dxdiag, and press enter.
That will launch the DirectX utility, which will report your version, among
other things. Check that the advanced features are enable (if your card
supports them).

Read the box of your game to see what it requires in terms of DirectX. Your
game's CD may also provide the needed DirectX drivers.
Did you opt to install them?

Please post back with more information.

Good luck,
-Lawrence in Seattle

Windows XP comes with DirectX 8.x, and unless the game (probably older than
XP) happened to come with DirectX 9.x, any drivers would probably be older
than those already installed. DirectX is backward compatible, so a person
should never try to install a lower version than already on the computer.

yeah i have the same problem...

i have DirectX 9c ... and that same message above poped up can some one help...
