Hi,
I've been trying to install DirectX 9.0b on my PC and
every time I try installing it, it gives me this error:

-
"Software Installation

The software you are installing has not passed Windows
Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP.
{tell me why this testing is important.)

This software will not be installed. Contact your system
administrator."
-

So what am I supposed to do to install this software on
my pc?
Thanks
-Curtis

Do you have Windows XP SP1 installed, although with the other updates from
Windows Update?

hi curtis ,
just out of curiosity did you find out how to solve this
problem as i have the same problem and no one no`s how to
fix it could you mail me back if you no thanks billy niven

i think your XP has a problem,
this message means most of the time
that one XP-database,logfile or another important xp-file is damaged or the
cryptographic service is not running properly.

It can be several things, Billy, including the user having "tweaked" the
system by using suggestions from a couple web sites and a popular PC
magazine to turn off certain Services. Those sites and the magazine didn't
mention turning off Cryptographic Service, for instance, will block
installations. You should also make sure you've updated the computer from
Windows Update, including with SP1.
