Hi all
I just recently installed windows xp professional, and updated all patches/fixes for Xp (windowsupdate)
I have updated my machines BIOS to latest version, and the same with my motherboard and video card
Everything works great if I DON'T update directx to version 9.0b, but I would love to get the latest directx version to work on my computer (new games etc. requires directx 9.0 ->)
After installing Directx 9.0b, whenever I try to use/access Directx (even if I only run the dxdiag utility) my CPU load goes through the "roof"... It's at a constant 100% load, until I close dxdiag utility/program or another program trying to utialise/use directx. I also experience lag on my desktop, caused by directx flooding my CPU
I have a AMD athlon 2800+ processor, 512 RAM, Geoforce FX5600 graphics card and a EPoX motherboard
I've installed every update there is for all of my HW, and searched every FAQ/help about this on HW providers homepages/newsgroups...
It's driveing me nuts that there is nowhere where I can find any suggestions/clues to solve this issue
I hope someone in this forum can assist me
Thnx in advanc
Bent.
