At one time I had the URL to print out for Directions to set up
my two computers as a "network" with my router. I can not find
them now that I finally have the time to STUDY them. Can someone
please direct me to the URL that has a tutorial on HOW TO USE
the Windows XP guide to set this network up so I can see my files
on my desktop computer from my lap top and vice versa?

I had paid a computer "expert" to come do this for me SEVERAL
times and EVERYTIME after just a couple of days, one will
stop working saying "the PATH can not be found". I get so
frustrated. But I really LOVE it when it DOES work.

Thank you for your time in addressing this question.

Step 1: Go to the website of the company that manufactured your router.

Step 2: Find the technical support portion of the website. It's usually called something like Support, or Technical Support or Customer Support.

Step 3: Look for information about setting up a network.

Here are two other good sources of information:

1. The manual that came with your router.
2. In the technical support portion of the manufacturer's website, you'll find a way to contact a technical support representative directly. These people have lots of experience in setting up networks and they know the manufacturer's products well.

I did this, they charge per incident and it is a lot of money.
What I am interested in is the DIRECTIONS as to HOW TO USE the Network Set
up in Windows XP.
I don't know WHY when it IS set up by a computer expert in just two days it
"looses" it's path to see the desktop computer from the laptop or vice
versa.
So I have had to delete all the previous network set up he programmer did,
and learn how to do it myself. USING the WINDOWS Network Set up Programme,
if I can get a Directions Sheet to learn to us it!

The company that makes my router was totally useless, I contacted them
months ago trying they are called Netgear.
Is there a Directions Sheet somewhere in Microsofts on line stuff????
What is that URL please??

Thank you,
Antoinette

Open the Help and Support Center and read these articles:

1. Home or small office networking overview
2. Steps for creating a home or small office network

Other sources of information:

1. A book from a bookstore.
2. A search of the internet.
3. A professional technician.
4. A course at a community college or equivalent.

If none of the above are any help to you, and the router's user guide and web site aren't any help to you, I'm afraid you won't be able to setup a network.
