Direct x error DDERR_Generic

When i try to load Swat 3 it gives me this [ Direct x error DDERR_Generic ] and it will not load the game
 
Unfortunately, as you'd expect the error doesn't say a lot. What's your
system configuration (dxdiag)?

intell celeron 2.2ghz
256MB RAM
Directx 9.0b
intell 82845G Graphics controller
64MB
Windows XP Home
 
Probably because it may not have a software T&l mode-Intel 82845G Graphics
controller do run games fthat need T&l -and it supports it (at Dell forums,
a member there sauid that they do have t&l)
 
Here's the specs for the Game of the Year Edition. This sounds more like a
possible out-dated driver issue.

Windows compatible sound card
