Direct X diagnostic question....

I couldnt find a newsgroup for Directx so I guessed this
would be my best option, sorry if there was one. In the
Directx Diagnostic Tool, when i test "direct 3d" in each
of the three tests, it keeps quiting out and saying that
i "cancelled by pressing a key". But i didnt.....
So I am unable to run this test which I would like
to...can anybody help me with this.

Wild guesses: monitor refresh rate is set to something other than
default and the synchonization of the mouse cursor is wrong; cap lock,
insert, or numlock are toggled. Very wild guesses. KB is no help.
