Direct Connection Problem

Don

I am trying to transfer data from my old Win98 PC to my new WinXP PC.

I hooked up a parallel cable between the two machines and set up direct
cable connection on both machines.

The machines now acknowledge each other. The Win98 PC is the host and the
WinXP PC is the guest.

All communications seem to be working, but I can't mount any Win98 shared
drives in Windows Explorer on the WinXP machine. I can't access any data
from the Win98 machine on Windows XP. Can anyone tell me how to access the
data?

Did you set your files and folder to shared? Dod you turn in File and
Printer sharing?

I set my files and folders to shared on both PCs. But perhaps I overlooked
turning on File and Printer sharing. Could someone tell me how to do that?

You may also need to set the folders for "share level access".
