Direct cd, Incd, HP DLA

I have got myself into a bit of a corner. I removed EasyCD creator 5 from my
pc and it also removed Direct CD. Prior to this I had used Direct CD (with
XP home) without too many problems.
I installed Incd as it came with a dvd writer I purchased.
Now any cds that had been written with Direct CD are not recognised by
Windows Explorer. How can I get the data off these cds so it can be
rewritten with Incd?
I tried removing Incd and reloading EZCD creator 5 but got into a terrible
mess and had to use system restore to regain control of my HP CD Writer and
Pioneer dvr108 drives. I now have Incd remaining on my system and no Direct
cd.

I read that HP DLA should enable me to read the cds created with direct cd
but in view of my earlier experiences, I am hesitant to load it up.

Can anyone tell em about HP DAL and/or offer any other suggestions to help
me out? Any advice very gratefully received.
Thanks
Chris

On the whole, of these three, DLA is the one I prefer - though these
days I hardly ever use that mode, considering how cheap CD-R disk are
now. I don't know how up to date the HP version is, the latest for
purchase is at www.sonic.com

There, or at www.roxio.com though you should also be able to find the
udfreader.exe program which enables you to read these disks on a machine
with none of the burning software installed
