Don

I connected my Win98 computer (host) to my WinXP computer (guest) and can
now transfer files.

After configuring my WinXP computer as a guest, the pop up says I can
transfer at 4Mbps

(I believe the 4Mega-bits/sec = 0.5Mega-Bytes/sec)

When I actually transfer a 3.127MByte file, it takes 72 seconds. This would
be about 43 KBytes/sec. - about 1/10 the speed I expect.

Why so slow?

I forgot to mention that I am connecting with a parallel cable. Again,
direct cable connection speed is much slower than the 4Mbps I expect.
