My didital Image Pro 9 works great until I try to save a picture. Then, my
PC crashes and reboots. A message comes up that windows has recovered, then
a critical error notice from Microsoft comes up to send the craxh information
to Microsoft.

I have reinstalled and installed the program 3 times all with same result.
Finally, my pc became unstable and would reboot even without Digital Image
Pro running. I uninstalled Digital Image Pro and has not had stability
problems since.

I have a 1.2 Ghz Athalon, 1.0 Gb memory, a new 120 Gb HD and Windows XP with
SP2. Also have installed and run Symantec Systems Works Premeir 2005 and
have disabled the anti-virus part when installing and running Digital Image
Pro. I've reinstalled my HP Office Jet G85xi printer with the new software
for Windows XP and disabled the printer while installing Digital Image Pro
per rerad me instructions.

I've looked through the support section to no avail.

Your help would be appreciated.

There is a reported incompatibility with
WinXP SP2 and Norton GoBack 4.0 that
causes crashes in DIP9 and 10.

If you happen to be running Norton GoBack
4.0 (which is included with SystemWorks5)
the current solution is to either uninstall
GoBack 4.0 or Disable GoBack 4.0 before
you open DIP9 or 10.

John -

Thanks a lot for your help. I'll try reinstalling Digital Image Pro and
disabling GOBACK.

Has anyone contacted Symantec about this problem? I'm wondering because my
last Symantec update contained a replacement of GOBACK. I tried runing the
Digital Pro progaam afterwards with the resulting crash.

Thanks again.

I'm sure Symantec is aware of the issue and
I don't think reinstalling DIP9 is required.

If you disable GoBack 4.0...let me if it clears
up the problem with DIP9.

Hi John -
I did email Symante Online technical Support. The Support Tech was very
helpful. Suggested that I try a clean boot and see if the Digital Image Pro
works. Also suggested disabling GOBACK and see if that takes care of the
problem.

Yesteday I disabled Norton Anti Virus and GOBACK, then reinstalled the
Digital Image Pro. Kept both disabled and brought up Digital Image Pro,
touched up a picture ansd saved it without a problem. The conflict is with
the anti-rirus, GOBCL or both. My guess is its GOBACK.

I'll email Symantec Technical support with my results but I think it
wouldn't hurt if Microsoft contacted them too.

Will let you know the final outcome.

Thanks for your help. It is much appreciated.
