Digital Cameras

I've recently bought a digital camera, and have installed the software that comes with the camera. However when I've gone to add the camera to the computer using the USB port it won't recognise the camera and says that the drivers aren't installed. I have contacted the makers of the camera but they as yet need to find an answer to my problem. Can anyone help please?
 
Please state the make and model of the camera, so that someone else who may
have encountered this could guide you.
