camera doesn't start up automatically. Took camera back to shop they tested and it worked perfectly. have not used any usb ports before and i'm wondering if there could be a problem, however i have gone on to device manager and selected each usb and properties and everyone states that it is working corectly. what else could it be?

Hi,

How about other USB devices, are they detected and installed correctly? Are
you using a powered hub or port? The existing power level may be too low for
the camera.

Some things to try:

After it is all plugged in , turn the camera ON and after a few seconds the
Computer will recognise that you are connected.

Did you follow all of the installation instructions to the letter? If you
got ahead of yourself and attached the camera before all of the software was
installed on the PC, that's your problem. Had the same thing happen here -
got ahead of myself on the first USB peripheral I tried to install. When I
figured out what the problem was (didn't wait to attach device) I had to
unstall everything, disconnect the device, then restore my XP machine to a
previous date prior to my first attempt with that device. Then went through
the installation process exactly and to the letter and it worked fine.

Do you mean that when you connect the camera it doesn't automatically fire
up the software to download pics from your camera. If yes, try this. Plug
in Camera, open up Windows Explorer (Windows Key depressed and press E)
right click on the drive showing that camera is connected, select
Properties - Autoplay and then choose the software you want to open up and
also click in the 'always perform this action. Disconnect camera and
reconnect hopefully it should fire up the software you chose.
