Digicam and USB HELP!

I have a canon digi camera, canon scanner and lexmark z52. I"m running XP Pro

I have recently upgraded from 98 to xp - my camera had no probs in 98; I've not been able to get it working in 2 months; so I called canon - they told me my printer was causing conflicts so I unplugged and rebooted; same issue

She than said I have to uninstall USB in safe boot mode and will possible need to use the XP CD.

anyone know what they are talking about and how to do it? I am not that familiar with PC but I'm willing to do anything!! HELP!!!!

Canon wants you to ditch lexmark and buy their own ;-)

This link provides all the recent drivers for canon cameras. Find your model
and locate the drivers for your operating system. Download the drivers and
follow the installation instructions:
