Difficulty Accessing "My Computer"

I have two problems:

1. The flashlight searches on "My Computer" for several minutes before the
"C:" drive icon appears.

2. Also, I'm unable to use the "Save As" feature in any program.

I can do both of the above things in Safe Mode.

I've done multiple Spyware and Virus checks and nothing comes up. I've also
used Chkdsk, System Restore and a registry cleaner, without any luck. I also
tried turning off Prefetch and System Indexing. None of that helped either.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Gary,

1) Run msconfig and disable Windows Image Acquisition on the services tab.

2) No idea.

When you say the Save As feature is unavailable in any program, do you
literally mean any program or Microsoft Office programs? I am asking
because the Save and Save As features are normally greyed out in MS
Office when you do not activate the product.
