can anyone tell me what is the difference between "EWF configuration partition" and the "EWF Volume". Are they same or what ??

Thanks again

thank you KM,
I knew abt the two that you were trying to explain with your forwarded link. But i would like you to know your answer with regard to the procedure of enabling EWF in a CF as described in MSDN.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...xetbsbuildingrun-timeimageforcompactflash.asp

In the section "Booting the Compact Flash Run-Time Image" we use a command "etprep \delete" to delete the EWF configuration partition. Is this partition same as the EWF volume ??

Lets shorten it to one line: There are only two terms concerning EWF. "EWF VOLUME" and "EWF protected Partitions". Is that it ?? what is then "EWF configuration Partition"

Thanks again ,,

prakash437,

EWF Volume (or EWF Configuration Partition if you will) - a storage
partition of type 0x45 that is used by EWF and is not visible or recognized
by the operating system.

Protected volume - the storage volume that is being masked (protected)
by the EWF driver.

Check the EWF Definitions here
