Difference between On-Screen Show and Letter Size in Page Setup?

Do anyone know the difference in settings between these two? The size is the
same but why would they have two different named settings if they were the
same?

*VERY* hazy memory thinks it recalls that there was once a difference between
the two some versions back. They're all the same from '97 on.

The distinction may be still there for backward compatibility reasons.
