Did the latest Windows Update bork up USB printing?

I'm asking this, because I noticed that, after I had screwed up a user's USB
printer port, I tried doing System Restore. Every time I picked a restore
point AFTER the last security update, the restore would fail, and, therefore,
her printer would remain messed up. However, I picked a restore point BEFORE
the last update, and no problems restoring. And, her printer now works!!!

Just curious.
