Did MicroSofr cause the prev and latest worm infections ?

But not allowing Pirated copies of Xp to be Patched ?

In china their Must have been HUGE amounts of XP copies not patched
and 1 or two million copies sending out worms all arround the world no
wonder we all got @&*@& over :)

Nice to see MicroDorks have seen the light and are allowing the
patching of Pirated versions.

Well thats what i have read not sure if they wont track your pc and
haul you off to prision though, they would need a BIG prision.

Nope! It is caused by the people who use pirated copies of XP and all those
who can't be bothered spending 1 minute to turn on the built in firewall.

Even without patches, the computers would have been protected if the
owners had simply enabled/installed a firewall.
Whether they realized it or not, those that got Sasser or Blaster did
so because they had not taken even the most basic steps to protect
their computers.

Did you get Sasser?

If you got Sasser or Blaster it is simply your own fault.
Patched or not, it is preventable.

In this respect your name calling is reflective on you rather than the
people you intended.

A curious sidenote to this: I have noticed that, when major worms spread,
the volume of spam I get drops a lot: when the Sasser worm appeared, the
volume of spam dropped by more than half, and it has not yet returned to its
former levels. This suggests that many spammers are not bothering to secure
their PCs!

Hmmm. Wonder how hard it would be to build a worm that only damages PCs
sending out huge volumes of email. ;-)
 
Woundn't that be like stealing a car and then expecting the manufacturer to
honor a recall to fix the brakes?
 
Yeah i got Sasser only becuase i turned off my Firewall :)

The Reg ran out and i had to get it reged, thats all it took, nice of
MicroSoft to have such a NICE OPRN door for al those worm writters out
their wonder what more oprn doors they will find.

Sasser is gone on my pc easy to fix just anoyong for a bit.

Three years ago I plugged in my first computer.A complete
newbie and totally lost but I knew enough to install an
anti-virus and a firewall from the get go. To date I've
never had a virus,your problem is self inflicted!
 
You know a virus scanner canonly get ridd a virus it knows ?
