I had W. Mail and posting error. I read in a previous discussion that
upgrading to W. Live Mail could be a solution. It isn't.

Changing of Antivirus Prog. (from McAffe to NOD32) also didn't helped.

My current error message:
----------------
A kapcsolat a kiszolgálóval megszakadt.
(The Connection to the Server Has Failed)

Tárgy 'test'
Kiszolgáló: 'smtp.email.msn.com'
Windows Live Mail hibaazonosító: 0x800CCC0E
Protokoll: SMTP
Port: 25
Biztonságos (SSL): Nem
Hiba a szoftvercsatornában: 10060
-------------
Microsoft solution for error code 0x800CCC0E is:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302339/en-us
Changing the smtp server. --> didn't work

Is there any solution for the problem? Reading previos discussions didn't
help me.

If I remember correctly, Windows Live Mail can connect to some sites
such as msn.com that Windows Mail can't connect to because they
require a connection with the HTTP protocol.

If you'd like to discuss Windows Live Mail, you're likely to get better
answers in newsgroup:

microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

The McAfee uninstall program often fails to remove the part of the
program that causes problems. Did you run this cleanup program
to take care of that?

Some recent versions of the NOD32 program also cause assorted
problems in Windows Mail occasionally. I'd suggest uninstalling it
and checking if that helps.

If it doesn't, also remove your email account under Windows Mail,
then restart Windows Mail and add the account again.

If it helps, you may want a replacement antivirus program that
doesn't cause such problems. Most versions of the Norton
antivirus program and a recent version of the Trend antivirus
program are bad choices, since they also occasionally cause
problems in Windows Mail. I'd recommend either avast! or AVG,
either one with a custom install that tells it to leave out the part
that scans email. For most home use, they are available free, but
there are also paid versions for businesses that don't qualify for the
free versions.

If I remember correctly, msn.com doesn't use port 25, and won't
connect under Windows Mail.

That site is unreachable for me.
Changing the smtp server. --> didn't work

To what? Does the new server need other changes in settings other than
the server name?

There probably is, but your problem seems different enough to require
trying more than just one solution.

Hi:

I was reading the article from the link you posted below and was wondering
about ISP's blocking Port 25 for sending email. I looked at the settings
for my ISP and that is what they use is Port 25 for sending email. Is it
possible they will be changing that in the near future. My ISP is
Roadrunner.

Thanks for your response.

I have no way of knowing when RoadRunner will offer alternate
SMTP ports. Cable companies like RoadRunner seem to be the
last of the big ISPs to offer conveniences that travelers need.
Port 25 will work fine as long as you don't use it away from home.
