| Do be sure to visit again ... say in 6 months time and let us know how you
| feel about your decision. Then you can report how XP crashed, got infected
| with viruses and got the notorious bit rot, so common to Windoze
| computers. You'll also be able to tell us the fun you've been having
| reinstalling the o/s and wiping out everything because Windoze "broke"
| and couldn't be fixed. And don't forget to keep 'dem anti-virus databases
| updated, along with the ones for adware and spyware. You can also report
| on how much money you had to spend on third-party software in an attempt
| to keep that Windoze box running and to approach anything near the
| useability of the MAC.
If he uses a bit of sense when computing on a popular platform, he won't get
any viruses, nor adware, nor spyware. Nor does he need slews of 3rd party
software to "keep it running" beyond, say, a virus scanner and Windows
Defender.
But if he wants to try everything out that comes along, download media from
wierd sites and agree to their ActiveX controls before playing, install
every kewmit cursor pkg., and every dancing bunnies screensaver and open
and run each and every email attachment and run special software for every
email greeting card, then sure, on a popular platform he will probably run
into something.
