Hi, cananyone tell me how to set the dictionary to 'united kingdom' in the
settings for the dictionary preference. At the moment it's on 'custom' and i
can't find where to change it. I'm on XP professional.
Thanks,
Helen.

The "custom" dictionary is the one to which you add your own spellings. It
should be set to "All Languages." The dictionary ("lexicon") used by the
spelling checker in addition to your custom one is a .lex file for a given
language. The lexicon that is used depends on the language applied to text
(see http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/MasterSpellCheck.htm) Both U.S. and
U.K. English are checked by the same lexicon, with different settings. For
instructions on setting the default language for Word, see

Thanks for that..done it!!
