Dialer with dialpad

I'm looking for a freeware dialer that will allow me to use my modem to make
phone calls. I'm looking for something that looks like a dialpad and
remains on the screen at all times.

You mean like Dialer which is included in all versions of Windows from
3.1 up?

Sort of. The xp one looks a little different. But, it has been awhile
since I've used one of these. Also, it doesn't seem to work. I can dial
out as if I were to use a dialup connection. But, can't make any calls from
the dialer. Makes no sense to me.

After dialling I have to lift the receiver on the phone and tell the
dialler to hang up as my modem disconnects the phone while it is in
use.

I've got a different problem now. Now it dials out and does what I tell it
to. But, I can't hear it over my speakers. I pick up the phone and hear
that it is working okay.

I would expect that to occur.

I presume you have a voice modem and you wish to use it as a
speakerphone. Have you checked the volume setting for the modem? Can
you set the volume for the modem?

HAve you also plugged a mic and speakers into the voice modem?
