Dial up settings

I am trying to set up my modem to work with my faxing software. WHen I fax a
local number, everything works fine. WHen I fax a long distance, Windows does
not automatically enter a 1. Is there somehting I am missing? I need it to
automatically enter the one because I am faxing all 50 states. Thanks in
advance for any advice

Have you set up the area code in the Phone and Modem options of Control
Panel ?
 
Yes, I set up my area code (330) in "My Location". I did not set up any area
code rules though.
