Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if it's possible to disable dial-up access for specific
user accounts?

The idea is...

4 user accounts. Dad, Mom, Kid #1, Kid #2

I don't want Kid #1 and Kid #2 to be able to get onto the Internet at
all, while leaving the dial-up connection working for Dad and Mom's
accounts. Any recommendations short of having to type the password each
time a connection is made?

Thanks.

Another PC; Internet disabled is the real answer. I recently tried to
troubleshoot a friends PC because his compliaant was he couldn't log-on to
the Internet... He has 3 teenagers using it in addition. I found 18 programs
of various types that were starting, and no one knew what they were
for...Kids will install any toolbar, applet, or little popup loaded program
if it looks interesting. This is just young curiosity and leaves the machine
open to stuff that slows it down. It would be like giving your children
money and asking them to do the family grocery shopping for the week.
(without your shopping list, imagine what would be in your refrigerator)

Hi. While I would agree with you 100%, another PC isn't an option in my
friends case. So, the question still remains. Does anyone have any
suggestions?

If configured appropriately, you can make it always ask for the
username/password required for the connection. If you only reveal that
info to the users you wqant to be able to connect then you have
effectively disabled it for the other kids.

Not perfect, but...
