Dial-Up Internet Connection Sharing

I have a desktop and a notebook connection via a cat 5 cable. The network
works just fine, I can transfer information between both computers very fast.
I can ping both computers, and there also is no DNS problems on either
computer.

The desktop is hosting the connection, and from the notebook I can see
gateway connection, can make it connect or disconnect with no problems at
all.

Now here comes the problem. I only can go to certain pages, like
www.google.com, or www.download.com. I try to go to... say www.hotmail.com
and it finds the site, connects to the ip, goes to website found, waiting for
reply and stays there.

I've been through every tutorial, I have the DHCP set up just fine, the MTU
solution doesn't seem to change anything at all...

I would appreciate any help anyone could offer,

Thank you,

I dont know for sure what to do but i had dial-up on a desktop,
connected the desktop to a switch, the switch to 3 laptops and a
desktop and everyone got internet. all i did was shared the internet
connection on the host desktop by going into network connections,
fiound the dial-up connection, right-click, properties, "allow other
users to connect through this computers internet connection" and all
that good stuff and ...DONE!!!
