dial up connection missing

We installed the new Final Fantasy and now our dial-up icon and link through Programs has diappeared. It's still in the system but not visable. If we establish a new connection it appears in the start menu briefly, then disappears. It also does not show our connection being active in the bar at the bottom of the screen, and gives us no way to disconnect the connection. Anybody have any ideas? It's very frustrating

See if this helps...

Press the Windows key (the one with the flag) and the N key simultaneously.

Click on VIEW CONNECTIONS

Right-click on the dial-up connection and click PROPERTIES.

Put a checkmark in "show' box at the bottom.
