I ran MJ's Help diagnostics to try to solve the riddle of the missing screen
text. It gave me the error message, "HB Workshop not found or not installed
correctly, try reinstalling" under the heading of HTML Help 1.x Workshop
Components. I downloaded HTML Help Workshop from Microsoft but it wouldn't
install because it found a newer one already installed, Any ideas what to
do next? I am running XP Home, SP2. Thanks.

I don't know what "MJ's Help diagnostics" are or what your original
problem was because you didn't keep to your original thread. However,
are you sure the error message wasn't "H*P*'s Workshop"? Do you have an
HP? If so, there was a patch for the HP Workshop that needed to be
applied before installing SP2 (along with other patches). Is this your
situation?

"Don't Panic!"

MJ's Help diagnostics came from http://helpware.net/. (Another MVP site).
Now teh diagnostics show no errors, so that's equally mysterious. The
system is a pre-merger Compaq Presario, XP Home SP2.
