I receive the following message about once a day which
then causes my XP Pro SP2 system to reboot.

Your computer was not able to renew its address from the
network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with
network address 000D6175158D. The following error
occurred:
The semaphore timeout period has expired. . Your computer
will continue to try and obtain an address on its own
from the network address (DHCP) server.

I have a gig of Cosair memory, AMD 3500+ chip, Gigabyte
motherboard, Linksys 4 port/wireless router. Driving me
nuts. Reloaded XP but still an issue.
Any help/suggestions appreciated.

Open Windows Firewall > Control Panel > go to the Advanced Tab > make sure
your ethernet connection is an exception.

Is your network card set to obtain an IP address via DHCP? If so is the DHCP
server configured to serve an address for your MAC address of 000D6175158D.
If not then configure the DHCP server correctly. USE YOUR BRAIN.
