I have a PC running Win XP, pure Intel platform, about 2
years old. Shipped with XP. I have all the latest
Updates/SP's. Running DHCP to a Linksys broadband router
at home - also latest firmware. I have 2 other PC's
running fine in this environment, one running XP Pro the
other Win2K. After running for 24 hours, I notice that
the IP address changes (still within same subnet -
192.168.1.0/24) and that networked apps fail to work
(www, email, etc.). Disable/Enable network adapter does
not fix problem. Replacing LAN NIC (with a completely
different Manufacturer's card) also does not fix
problem. Only a reboot addresses the issue. It is my
belief that one of the many updates to XP has caused this
problem.
Anyone else seen this?
Thanks!
