Hello again, More DFS problems! When I try to Create a
Domain Distributed file system using the wizard it asks if
I want to create it or use a existing share, if I choose
create, when I get to the "finish" screen it errors out and
says cannot create when it already exists....When I choose
a share that allready exists it says the same thing on the
"finish" screen!
THis is a test network running Windows 2000 advanced
server. It has NO SP's installed! What gives?
Has anyone ever used X-Link software for fail-over?
Do I need to install SP's?
Laura, I hope you are in today! The FSMO answer was
good enough to stop testing in that direction, now It can't
seem to make new Domain FS because of the above errors!

THanks in advance HANK B

First:
install up-to-date service packs,
Then delete the share names that you wish to use.
then create the DFS share and make the share you wish to "soft-link" to.
Try this first,,,
