device manager not displaying devices

I am unable to see any devices when I open device
manager. I have scanned this computer with McAfee virus
scan and found 3 viruses which were deleted.

Still no devices showing. I tried to view all devices
and such but still nothing.

Any suggestions?

Just for fun, boot in "safe" mode and try it again.. To go into safe mode,
start your computer up and start to press your F8 key a couple of times a
second. You should get a text window fairly early (especially if you are
doing a reboot). In that window, choose "safe mode".
