Every time i try to play a game,Edit a film or watch a
film the computer shuts down and restarts and then comes
up with a report to send out whitch says that a device
driver caused a system error.I looked in the device
manager and all the devices seem to be functional.
I have a laptop with XP,athlon XP 2500+,512Mb ddr ram and
a nVidia 64mb 488 go graphics card.
I had a look on the nVidia website and done a search for
an update for that graphics card but it didnt find
anything.I found one update on the site that had an
update for every other card in one package but mine.
Im going nuts about this as the computer is only a week
old and its shut down about 20 times which is not good
for it.
Can someone help?????

Hi Stuart,

What is the actual error reported? Is it a STOP message? If so, the
particular code (for example 0x0000000A), is very important to
troubleshooting the cause of the error. It is trying to tell you what to
look into....

Here is a link to a lengthy list of STOP Messages, and what they are likely
to mean: http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.php#0x8e

If it is another kind of error, the specifics of it are still very important
to know. Does it mention win32k.sys? for example?

Try a www.google.com search on the specific error you're getting.
If that is too daunting, consider copying down the error, and reposting here
with the info. People will help.

Regards
