Determine Which Half of Year Based on Date

I want to write a query that groups records based on the first or second half
of a year. For example, records with a date of March 4th, 2005 (3/4/2005)
would be grouped as 1st Half 2005. Records with a date of October 20th, 2004
(10/20/2004)would be grouped as 2nd Half 2004. There does not appear to be
an easy way to do this, as there is when trying to determine the Quarter.

Are you saying you want to identify all records where the month portion of
your date field is less than 7?
