Hi,

I have a problem with installing an other version of windows XP other than
the version provided by the company from where I bought my machine. Windows
XP doesnt automatically detect my SATA hard disk.
They told me that the next version of windows Vista wont have this problem.
Isnt it?

Thanx

You must install the SATA drivers first. They should be on a floppy provided
with the motherboard or plugin card. (FYI - I installed XP on a SATA drive
with no problems before SP1 or SP2 was out.)

XP doesnt detect in IE,or in setting up xp to install. In IE (xp running),you
need
to boot to xp cd,press F6 option, then recovery, press enter key for password,
then type:DiskPart In DiskPart the SATA drive will show, create a partition,
then press Esc key,then type:FORMAT D: /FS:ntfs D: being the SATA drive.
If its in set up,then after F6,select install xp,new copy.
