Detecting Oldest Date On Spreadsheet

I am doing a spreadsheet in which one column is for the
dates of cases I am dealing with. I want the bottom cell
in this column to show the date of the oldest case. For
example column C cells 1 to 25 show a range of dates in
2004. Cell C26 needs to show the oldest date listed above.
