A menu bar has appeared on the left side of my desktop
with three drop downs: Folder Taska, Other Places and
Details

I have no idea how it got there and cant get rid neither.
Please help! Thanks

It's called the Common Tasks Bar.

Go to the following website and download the Remove Common Tasks file.
Double click the file to run and it will automatically remove this from the
desktop.

The problem was solved thanks to Ronnie Vernon MVP

Was unable to configure how to reply to the the newsgroups though
