How do I change the font and color of the text describing the shortcut
items? Thank You.

Right click on your desktop, select properties and
appearance and advanced.

Then from the pulldown item menu, select icon.

From there you can chanage the font...etc.

I'm not sure how to change the color.

Hi,

By default in XP, it can't be manually changed. The text changes on its own
from dark to light depending on the color of the background. It is based on
the Desktop color not the Wallpaper. The combo is whether or not you are
using a Wallpaper and what the Desktop color is.
