I have on my desktop a blinking window (covers half the screen) from a casino
web site that I cannot get rid of. I have tried everything I could think of.
Can anyone help? Thanks

This is something like that you have installed a small software from that
web-site, which always appear when you log on. You can try the following:

Connect to the Internet.
Goto Control Panel - Add / Remove Programs

Here locate the program carefully which may be installed by the web-site and
remove it.

Hope it will work.

Let me know!

The only part of this answer that is correct is the first sentence. Twig
has malware on his/her computer and s/he will not be able to remove it
simply by going to Add/Remove Programs.

Go through the general malware removal steps - including all preparatory
work - listed here:

http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Here is some additional information about getting rid of the background
picture, but just getting rid of the picture isn't going to give you
back your computer.

Go to the Display applet in Control Panel and look on the Desktop tab.
Click on Customize Desktop, and then click on the Web tab. You will see
that there are checkmarks next to "My Current Home Page" and probably
"Lock Desktop Items". Uncheck these. By highlighting the "My Current
Home Page" and clicking on the Properties button, you will be able to
determine the name of the file that is the image. Click Apply and OK
out when you've made your changes. Then you want to find the *.html
malware file and delete it.

Cleaning a badly-infested computer can be complex. If after reading
through the various removal steps at the above link you decide this
isn't your cup of tea (and there is no shame in admitting that), take
the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local
version of BigStoreUSA).

Hi Davvid and thanks for the response. It is an independent window that open
with and stays on the desktop....still can get rid of it.

Hi and thanks for the response. I tried that but could not find any program
that I could associate with it.
