I have what appears to be a pop up screen on my dektop
that almost covers the whole window but it is behind the
icons, there is no bar to move to close it or a
application which will stop it from opening up on
startup. i did msconfig and closed everything on startup
and it is still there. i did ctrl+alt+del and stopped all
applications and when i tryied to stop some of the
processes it did not help. I right clicked on the screen
and it said it was a html page but i have uninstalled
everything and installed spybot and adaware and popup
blocker but no help. in safe mode it is not there and i
did try to change the desktop and background, but nothing
it is still there....any suggestions?
 
Try this:

Right-click on the desktop and choose Properties. Select the Desktop tab and
click the Customize Desktop button. Select the Web tab. Are you displaying a
web page on your desktop?
