desktop themes

I have windows xp, manufacturer installed, and I miss microsoft plus 98 themes. I have Plus 98 cd, but system says not compatible with xp. Anyway to download them from the cd or a reliable, safe site?

It's a Microsoft Product - Microsoft Windows XP Plus - includes extra themes
and extra screensavers.

But don't expect much. There are just a few themes. For access to hundreds of Windows XP
themes, go to:

http://www.themexp.org/how_install.php

There are instructions for using the third party utility Style XP, in order to be able to
use the myriad of free available themes. Click on the Visual Styles link on the menu on
the right side of the page, and see the possibilities, and then wonder if the few themes
in Microsoft Windows XP Plus are anything to bother with...
 
t.cruise Thanks for the link, but I'm too unsure of my computer skills to
download from a site other than from a manufacturer that I'm unfamilar with.
Twice I've downloaded a worm when I've done that , even with system suite!

i have the style xp it works great and looks good, just be careful for some
reason on theme xp when you try to save the files the first 3 times it will
come with .exe after that they will come up .zip
 
I have windows XP Plus it worked great untill I had to reinstall
windows.When I try to install XP Plus I get this message ( Error 1305 reading
from file H :plus for windows XP/common/speech Engine microsoft
\sr\1033\C1031037 am.Verify that the file exist and that you can acces it
)Can anyone advise me how to verfy that the file exist?
