Hi,
how do I get the nice IE graphics shortcuts,which I got to recognise, to re-
appear on my desktop.
They just dissapeared one day,I mean they have been replaced by plain
IExplorer icons which are pretty boring .

The fancy customized icons for internet shortcuts are downloaded from sites
when you visit. As long as those icons (called favicons) remain in your
Temporary Internet Files folder, you get to see these. When these files are
deleted, the shortcut reverts to the standard IE icon.

no, I have cleared Temp Internet Files before and it had no effect on the IE
desktop shortcuts.
Its since I ran one of the spyware /adware/IE washer (PC Mesh) programes
that its happened.
I tried them all for the hell of it.
Could the IE icons be connected to dat. files which one of the IE wash
programmes removed?
