I'm having a weird problem with desktop shorts that I use
for various drive letters. If I put on "A", "D", "I",
and "Z" on the desktop they don't work. I get an error
message saying that the drive has changed. The "C" drive
works fine but the floppy, zip, CD and mapped drives
don't work correctly. Anyone run into this problem and
know of a solution? I've been able to use the computer
with a workaround using the "My Computer" icon on the
desktop to gain access to the drives. I'm trying to make
a mandatory profile and don't want users to access ALL
the drives. Any suggestions?

I too am having this problem. I am trying to create a
shortcut to the users home directory (H:\) and add it to
the "all users" desktop folder. It says lnk has been
moved.
What's up. Please let me know if you find a solution.
I have posted this problem with no answers returned.

I have shortcuts to networks drives, and removable drives and all work fine.
In the target make sure they read like this:
C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /e,D:\
(where d:\ is your drive letter)

There is a windows update critical (XP Home is my OS) which caused an issue
of this sort. The item is #821557, and MS will be issuing a fix soon,
according to the MSVP's. If you downloaded this update, it may be the reason
for your issues. Yes, the "c" drive icons are not affected, but all others
are (I know, I tested it for myself) and the only way to access the other
drives was using the Explorer or My Computer.

Have you tried going to that drive in Explorer, right click it, choose Copy.
Go to your desktop, right click and choose Paste Shortcut?
