Running XP Pro w/SP2. This did not occur in 2000Pro and I'm
wondering if it's some setting hidden somewhere I don't know
about.

When I start an ap it shows on the task bar next to the start
button. Of course there is some order to being put on the
task bar, so when I exit the active ap the next in line should
become active. But it doesn't.

Sometimes I get a lot of aps on the task bar, so I kill one or
more and expect to be thrown into the one previously viewed or
the next one on the ordered list of being put on the task bar.
But, when I kill one, none is made active. So the first selection
makes the ap active, then I can do something.

Any way to make this reselection automatic?

Thanks for your help.

Are you opening the programs minimized?
Only programs that are not minimized will go to another program when one is
closed.
