Desktop menu problem

When I right click on the desktop and then click 'new' there is an entry in
the list of files for a program that I have long since uninstalled. How do I
get rid of it? Not affecting anything, just irritating.

I am running XP Home (service pack 2) without any problems.

Sorry if there is an obvious answer but I am not that savvy with altering
anything but the simple settings.

Hi,

Use Tweak ui 2.10 and then click on the template link.
you will have the option to add and remove the entries that u want to appear
in the menu link when u right click and select new.

Download Powertoys from this site for XP.
