Desktop items flash or like refresh weird

For some reason my desktop has been flashing once in a while and/o
refreshing i think. but not sure. I've also noticed when I'm in th
control panel right when i open it it takes a while for the items t
load up or something and it's not blank but has a pic icon of each ite
but not the right one, I'm not sure what to call the basic name of th
format. but all of them are the same until it loads the right ico
picture. sorry if this is hard to understand but I don't know wtf i
going on. please help.

Please use punctuation...

Type this in Start > Run and see if Sound Sentry is enabled. If ya, then disable
it.
